「彼女は猫が好きではありませんし、彼女の母親もそうです」
not ～ either「～もまた…ない」
too には「～もまた」という意味があります。
しかし、too は肯定文で使い、否定文では使いません。
not ～ too という表現をしてはいけません。
not ～ either とします。
「～もまた…ない」という他の表現も覚える！
She doesn’t like cats and her mother doesn’t, either.
= She doesn’t like cats and neither does her mother.
neither の部分を nor にする表現もあります。
… and nor does her mother.
どちらも語順に注意が必要です。
neither を主語にして、「どちらも～ない」とする書き換えも可能です。
Neither she nor her mother likes cats.
「彼女も彼女の母もどちらも猫が好きではない」
neither A nor B が主語になっている場合、述語動詞は、普通 B に合わせます。
ただし、略式では複数形扱いをします。
また、neither は neither of 限定複数名詞の形も取ります。
Neither of my friends has come yet.
「私の友人はどちらもまだ来ていない」
これが３人以上になると、none of ～ の形になる事も覚えておきましょう。
None of my three friends has come yet.
「私の３人の友人はだれもまだ来ていない」
neither of ～ の形でも、neither は基本的に単数形扱いです。
しかし、略式では、複数形扱いをします。
